Day 14: The Bitter Root

Day 14: The Bitter Root

“See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.” - Hebrews 12:15-16

When someone becomes offended and doesn’t deal with that offense the right way, it can grow into their soul and become a root of bitterness.

DON’T LET DISAPPOINTMENT TURN INTO BITTERNESS:
The bitter root can take us out even if we are believers living a vibrant life in God. Bitterness is a root that must be dealt with quickly because if we go with it for too long, the potential of destruction becomes evident.

We all encounter conflict, but the danger comes when we are not able to deal with conflict in a healthy way. If we allow the offense to stay in our lives, it will eventually seep into our root system and destroy our foundation.
